Glass Window Bridge & The Narrows
Stand on Eleuthera's narrowest point — 30 feet wide — with deep-blue Atlantic pounding one side and calm turquoise Bight of Eleuthera on the other. Go early before the tour vans, then dip into Gaulding Cay or Rainbow Beach on the way back. Rough-sea days are the most dramatic.

Half a mile south of the Glass Window, Queen's Baths fills at low tide into warm, clear soaking pools on the Atlantic shelf — arrive an hour before low tide and wear reef shoes. Then drive 10 minutes to Sapphire Blue Hole near North Eleuthera and jump 30 feet into water the colour of a gemstone.

Park at the North Eleuthera dock and take the 5-minute water taxi across to Dunmore Town — pastel Loyalist cottages, golf carts instead of cars, and three miles of genuinely pink sand on the Atlantic side. Have lunch at a waterfront shack, then walk the sandbar at low tide.

Drive to the very bottom of the island for Lighthouse Beach — miles of empty rose-tinted sand beneath an old beacon, worth every minute of the bumpy final mile. On the way back, stop at Ocean Hole in Rock Sound to feed the tame tarpon, or cool off in the Cathedral Cave at Preacher's Cave up north.

Gas stations are sparse between settlements and most close by 6pm — Sundays even earlier. Heading south past Palmetto Point? Top off first.
The pools are rough and dangerous at mid-to-high tide. Check the tide table, arrive an hour before low, and never turn your back on the Atlantic side.
Bahamas traffic keeps left, and Queen's Highway is one long two-lane road. Take the curves easy — and watch for potholes after heavy rain.
Most shops, gas stations, and restaurants outside Harbour Island close on Sunday. Stock the cooler and plan a beach day — the island does.
The tour vans from the resorts roll in mid-morning. Go at sunrise for the bridge to yourself — and rough-sea days put on the best show.
